Our Mission in the Community

Health & Wellness
Through Traditional Martial Arts

Traditional Martial Arts (Moo Doe), as it has been practiced over the centuries, has always carried within it the principle of improving yourself.
Practitioners dedicate themselves to winning over their own personal condition, whatever it may be, in order to achieve their best possible self physically, mentally and spiritually.

At Oom Yung Doe Kirkland, we share this principle by bringing health and wellness to our community through Traditional Martial Arts.
Our goal is to promote a strong sense of community and leave behind a powerful foundation for generations to come.

From mental resilience to improved well-being, Traditional Martial Arts helps everyone take a step closer to reaching their highest potential.

Supporting the Mission

to Make This World a Better Place

Our mission is to promote a healthier, more vibrant community through connecting individuals to the principles and movement of Traditional Martial Arts. We are passionate about what we do for our community and the lives that are improved through movement, especially for those who are most at-risk for increased emotional, mental, and physical challenges. We believe that by empowering individuals to strive toward their best possible self we build a stronger, more vibrant, and positive community. Whether you are a current or past student at one of our physical locations in Seattle or San Diego, or you met us at a community event, when you choose to give through money, time, or advocating for our cause, our programs are successful. Your support helps us not only expand our Women's Self-Defense groups and youth mentorship programs, but also provide scholarships and tuition assistance to those who need it most. This ensures that access to high-quality Traditional Martial Arts training stays open to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Our programs and impact in the community are growing because of your generosity and sincere interest in our mission. By advocating for our cause, we bring Tai Chi, Stress Relief, and mobility programs to busy individuals who otherwise might not be able to take time for their own mental and physical health. When you donate, we can provide positive community and opportunities for children and teens to help resist negative peer pressure and give them positive role models while building long term life skills. Your support directly benefits both current and future generations. Together, we’re not just teaching martial arts. We’re preserving a time-tested tradition and building a healthier, safer community for years to come. Together we are promoting Health and Wellness in Our Community through Traditional Martial Arts. We deeply appreciate your support for our cause.
