Traditional Children's Martial Arts
Oom Yung Doe is true Traditional Martial Art, offering training as it has been taught in Asia for centuries. The goal is not just to improve your condition or self-defense, but to truly "win over yourself" and reach your fullest potential mentally, physically, and spiritually. Group lessons for kids between four and nine years of age are focused toward developing strength, coordination, balance, focus, and discipline. Movements come primarily from the Udo (Jujitsu), Kong Su (a hard style like Tae Kwon Do or Karate) and Kung Fu styles, but students will learn all 8 styles as they work toward earning their black belt.
Lessons for this age group emphasize following directions and working together as a team. Students learn to look out for each other as they work toward overcoming obstacles and challenges. This builds a sense of community among the students as they learn to encourage each other if somebody in the class is struggling with a movement. |
See what your child can achieve!
The best way to see how Oom Yung Doe practice can help your child is to experience training. Even if you are considering other schools, this will help you make a more informed decision about where to train, and what your child can achieve through Traditional Martial Arts. Choosing a school that can help you attain your goals quickly is worth it.
"My daughter has had such a great experience with Oom Yung Doe. She has gained great amount of confidence in learning the art of martial arts. Ben R. (7 years old) demonstrates the development he gained practicing Angry Dragon 2, a Kung Fu style form (above left). Before training with the Master Level Teaching (MLT) team Ben was easily distracted during lessons and needed a lot of external help staying on task. After his training, he's able to keep himself on track for the entire lesson as well as developing the strength and intensity with his movement that earned him a Silver Certificate in his first Local Level Tournament.

Children's Martial Arts Monthly Membership
Child (ages 6 to 9) or Pre-Kid (ages 4 to 5) monthly membership entitles your child to attend any of the curriculum level group lessons offered each month for the appropriate age group. With an evaluation and instructor permission, a younger child may be approved to attend lessons with an older age group. There is no contract and you can cancel at any time.
As an added bonus, new child students will receive a uniform as part of their 1st month of training. For Pre-Kid students, their first uniform is included with their training, but will need to be earned through their uniform test (typically about 3 weeks into training) |
