7th Annual Spring Kick-a-thon
Kick or Donate in support of Martial Arts Scholarship Programs
|
Our annual Spring Kick-a-thon is coming! Start warming up your legs now to raise funds for Traditional Martial Arts Scholarship and Tuition Assistance Programs. The official Kick Day is Saturday March 22nd starting at 10:00am. This year we are excited to host two in-person kick events on in San Diego and one in Kirkland. Full venue addresses are on the Kicker Pledge Form.
This event is always an amazing opportunity for students and community members to challenge themselves physically and mentally. In Traditional Martial Arts, we refer to this principle as becoming your own best self. In its simplest form, the goal is to simply be better than you were yesterday. By constantly striving to improve ourselves as individuals, we become better community members and help to build a more peaceful and positive world. Every year we have kickers who take this principle to heart and smash through personal goals, showing that every year they become better. Kickers like Kalah who was 7 years old in her first Kick-a-thon and still inspired four adults kicking beside her to reach 1000 kicks before she went on to become the 2021 and 2022 Kick Queen. Or the original Kick Queen Delaney who set the bar for all other Kick Queens and Kick Kings to strive for when she spent two hours showing that it is possible to reach 3000 kicks. These are amazing markers from our past kickers, but success wouldn't be possible without the sincere interest and generosity of their sponsors and donors. Consider signing up to sponsor a kicker or make a donation today so that every kick raises funds to give those most in need a hand toward achieving their goals as well! Whether you are participating with your kicks, sponsoring a kicker, or simply speaking about our cause to others, our success in providing these programs wouldn't be possible without you. Any donations made to sponsor students or support our cause are tax-deductible. |

Oliver Reese Memorial Fund
Youth Scholarship Programs Like the teen and former student whose memory we honor, the Oliver Reese Memorial Fund supports programs designed to give youth students, especially teenagers, a safe space to practice, the confidence to resist negative social pressures, and a sense of community and pride. As a teen student, Oliver was a pioneer in many of our current Youth Leadership Programs. Through his legacy, we continue to help young students develop positive challenges with a supportive community.
Since it opened in 2021, the Oliver Reese Memorial Fund has helped over 40 youth students take on challenges related to higher-level training or tournament participation. For most of these students, this was their first experience learning from a Master Level instructor. With your support, we can have an even bigger impact this year. |
Tuition Assistance Programs
Within Traditional Martial Arts is the strong belief that everybody, no matter their physical condition, age or other factors, can benefit from practice. We see every day that students who practice are calmer, more focused, and better able to deal with the stressors that life throws at them. Unfortunately we often see that those most in need of training also face the most significant barriers to training. Through our Tuition Assistance Programs, we now have the ability to provide a little extra support for those who need it, allowing more of our community to benefit from the positive impact of Traditional Martial Arts Practice.

Kick King or Queen
Competition is always fierce for the coveted Kick Crown since the original Kick Queen, Delaney, stayed through two hours of kicking to set the bar at 3000 Kicks. This title goes to the student who completes the most kicks on Kick Day. The 2024 Kick Kings Dan and Aadya set the bar at over 6000 kicks. Aim for this title if you think you've got the legs to take him on.

Network Guru
The Network Guru prize is for the Kicker with the most sponsors. Assistant Instructor Jenn, last year's Network Guru had 9 sponsors, but our current record holder, Deanna, had 17 sponsors the year she earned the title. Can you beat her out and earn the prize this time?
