Health & Wellness Seminars
Change your Reality! Traditional Martial Arts, as is taught at Oom Yung Doe, are truly unique in the variety of ways the movements promote different aspects of Health and Wellness. With time and practice, practitioners can physically gain not just the typical balance, flexibility, strength, and coordination you might think of with martial arts, but also improved organ function, increased lung capacity, better blood flow, and more. With improved physical conditions, practitioners can also gain mental focus, a calm mind, patience, and determination that can improve their relationships with family, friends and co-workers.
Each Health and Wellness seminar focuses on one aspect that can be developed through training and practice. The movements are focused toward beginning level students with techniques that are simple to learn and quickly effective. No previous experience is necessary to attend a seminar. "An auto accident left me injured and in pain. After a few days of your help, the agonizing pain in my lower back is gone." |

Samurai Sword (Kom Doe) for Mental Focus
Having a sharp focused mind can drastically improve your day to day life. By being focused you improve how much you can get done in a day whether it is for work, school, a test, or an interview. When practicing Samurai Sword (Kom Doe), students must build an awareness of the blade angle and the placement of cuts and blocks as they learn to block out distractions. The goal of practice is to hone your mental focus until it is as razor sharp as the edge of your blade.
The School of Oom Yung Doe is offering a rare opportunity to learn the basic cuts and blocks for the Samurai Sword. This seminar develops strength and flexibility in the shoulders and arms. Practice weapons will be available in the school to use, but you may wish to purchase your own weapon to practice with afterwards. You can purchase your own weapon through Amazon or at www.martialartsmart.com. Look for the bamboo shinai as a beginner weapon. You can also practice these movements with a pool noodle or short stick that is about three feet in length and has room for both hands.
