Chung Sul Gi Sul Bope- Sae Gae Moo Doe Testimonials
April 2002

Michael Honeycutt
3rd Section
Queen Anne Seattle, WA
I feel like my wrists and shoulders have gained a lot of strength and flexibility. My movement also feels much more fluid, because I have to work with the Chung Sul Gi Sul Bope. Gravity helped me move the weapon far more than my own muscles.

This experience was good for several reasons. Two of the most important ones are the ability to learn from higher-level instructors, and the chance to get to learn and practice this form. It showed me just what sort of work is required in wielding a weapon, as well as general physical fitness to which I should aspire. The seminar also introduced me to herbal spray.

I enjoyed the Chung Sul Gi lesson. Once I understood the sequence and I relaxed it felt good to move. With practice I hope to be a bit more graceful. (Ha!) Using a weapon with a flag was interesting and helpful. I don't know this to be true…but I notice if I was relaxed and did more of a circular motion the flag did not get tangled. I thought I would wake up really sore in my arms and back. I do feel some in my back, but not like what I was thinking.

This was the single most enjoyable Sae Gae Moo Doe I have taken so far! It was readily apparent to me how the flag helped to make the movement easier to learn and practice.

Bruce Anderson

I found I was able to follow and understand the sequence in a short time. I am challenged by bringing my entire body into moving the weapon. I can see more connections with other aspects of my training and I had great fun at the Sae Gae Moo Doe. I can see how this Sae Gae will improve my overall practice.

Sudo/Gyuksu SGMD Testimonials
April 2002

Frank Furtado
3rd Degree Asst. Hd. Instructor
Seattle, WA
I gained a much more complete understanding of how to throw a sudo and make it explode like a bullet, better understanding of Gyuk Su also. After practicing on the equipment my hands felt sore, but with application of the herb, the soreness went away quickly. I can already tell, that with practice, my hand attacks will be much, much stronger.

Sherry Picatti
2nd Degree Instructor
Bellevue, WA
My understanding of sudo and gyuksu has been greatly increased. I felt my strikes on the bags were getting stronger with each set. I’ve learned that with any hand development, it takes some time to realize a great deal of change.

Sheila Chinn
2nd Degree Instructor
Seattle, WA
I’m constantly amazed at how the international level instructors can precisely pinpoint and explain what I need to change.

Roger Boyer
2nd Degree Instructor
Bellevue, WA
Within the span of two hours I actually felt my hands get stronger and my skill improve. It was nothing short of amazing.

Darren Cobin
2nd Degree Asst. Instructor
Seattle, WA
In this seminar I learned how to effectively apply some of the techniques I’ve learned in school. I’m not a big person, and it is hard for me to make my movements come up with power, but in this seminar I learned how to generate power by moving more correctly.

Michael Cooke
2nd Degree Instructor
Seattle, WA
The first things I noticed was that my hand eye coordination improved and became smoother. I also found that my speed has increased noticeably in my hands and upper body. I felt with the gyuksu strike that each time I hit the bag my fingers felt weaker and it became more difficult to hold my hand position. Overall my hand attacks felt much stronger and my confidence is much greater now and will improve with further practice.

I learned more about correct sudo/gyuksu movement. Though I cannot perceive what kinds of changes will come of this training, I feel confident that change will occur. I was told that my hands will become both softer and stronger, but it is far too soon for me to see such changes yet. I have had a question for some time about how to more quickly change my hip flexibility, a problem area for me. Head National Jerry gave me some additional moves to help loosen them up. I was told to expect that change will take some time before becoming noticeable, but that I will maintain the benefit longer.

It’s amazing to me how we could do the work that we did in learning Sudo and Gyuksu and hitting the bags and that my hands don't hurt at all. I am looking forward to practicing the things I've learned tonight and getting stronger, more powerful sudo and gyuksu. Thank you very much for sharing this knowledge with us.

My understanding of basic elements of sudo and gyuksu were greatly improved with this event. The International and higher-level National Instructors were tremendous!

Michael Helton
1st Degree, Asst. Ins.
First Hill Seattle, WA
I definitely learned more correct ways to set my hand position and execute attacks. The practice equipment not only develops my attacks, but also gives instant feedback on the strength of my sudo position. I have confirmed to myself that I would like the development of "Iron Hand" to become a part of my training.

I've found Sae Gae Moo Doe lessons very helpful with my understanding how to properly improve myself. I look forward to further lessons. In addition, I feel having the opportunity to ask directly towards Head National Instructor Jerry answers many of my questions.

Vincent MacFarlane
2nd Degree Instructor
North Seattle, WA
Going through the SuDo GyukSu seminar I learned many insights and principals to 2 hand attacks I thought I already understood. The next day I felt quite a bit in the areas of my hand that I used. I knew then how much I can build up that area.

When I started at this school I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome. The doctors were recommending surgery. After attending the classes and doing the exercises my hand has healed.

Jennifer Coggan

This Sae Gae Moo Doe really cleared up some of the details I felt I was missing with my hand attacks. In particular, the use of the bags helped a great deal with my understanding of correct contact points. I feel I will benefit a great deal from this practice.

I feel more confident about my sudo's and my hand attacks. I can tell that my speed is also increasing.

Gregg DuPont

I gained a marked improvement in Gyuksu. It is great to receive a deeper understanding of the reasons behind the movements we have been learning and to improve them so much in a short time!

Lesson was good and will be beneficial for practice.

As a beginner to Oom Yung Doe and not even on International Black Belt training, I found this extended lesson very beneficial for me. The ability to train with such high level instructors was wonderful. My hands are feeling good too. Excellent herbs!

Eric Wenger

During this lesson I learned how to practice Chull Sul Chung to develop the sudo and gyuksu points on my hands. The movement will take several follow up practices before I will be able to relate my full experience with this practice.

I knew I needed to go to this Sae Gae Moo Doe, but I really did not realize how much! I learned the proper hand positions for both Sudo and Gyuksu and how strong these movements are. As a professional hair stylist, I use my hands continuously. My hand strength is weak but now I can see that my hands will get stronger. I also felt these movements coming from my shoulders and torso--not my arms. The example of a rope with a weight at the end was great, as was throwing a knife into the wall.
