Annual Week Long Seminar

2001 Weeklong Seminar

6/11-6/16 and 6/18-6/23

Over thirty five instructors and students from the NW Region attended the National Weeklong Seminar near Glenwood Spring Colorado last month.  Attendees were delighted by the beautiful surroundings, the tremendous opportunities for mental and physical lessons from so many higher level instructors, as well as the chance to meet Instructors and students from across the United States.

Forms taught:

Yong Hyung means "dragon figure". This form consists of a combination of fluid movements that promote flexibility, coordination, strength and speed.

Infinity movements: up to 16 movements using a weighted herbal ball that build joint strength and flexibility throughout the body.

Lotus Flower: a sequence of movements that awaken the body while loosening all the joints.

Bagwa Hyung Foundation Training sequences and application, some of which will be only available at the weeklong.

Meditation: special breathing sequence to allow a deeper meditative state.

Included in the training was the use of Traditional Moo Doe herbal extracts applied topically as well as training equipment containing dried herbal extracts. Such herbal formulas were closely guarded secrets used by East Asian royal families in developmental training and medical application.

 Attendee Comments:

"I feel that I have learned more about myself as an Instructor and as a person in one week that I have in a very long time. Physically, I feel I have gained more body control, flexibility, and a better understanding of how to practice many of my forms. Mentally, I feel more positive and clear headed about the direction I want to go in life."
Jeremy Keila
2nd Degree Instructor, Winter Springs, FL

"The opportunity to be around national level instructors for an entire week was priceless!"
David Urbach
2nd Degree Assistant Instructor, Framingham, MA

"The infinity movements demonstrated that with proper practice, I could have greater control, flexibility, focus and awareness of my surroundings."
Richard Leeds
2nd Degree Instructor, Newton, MA

"I came completely worn out physically and mentally. I now feel revitalized. By the second day I was calm and relaxed; but then the third day I felt a mental clarity that I cannot put into words."
Brian Maddox
1st Degree Assistant Instructor, San Diego, CA

"I enjoyed meeting people from all across the country who share the same goal of developing themselves. I made many new friends and strengthened the friendships that I already had. I would strongly urge every student to consider coming to the weeklong as it takes training to a whole different level."
Barbara Sullivan
1st Degree, West Roxbury, MA

"At first I was hesitant to attend the weeklong seminar but as soon as I arrived I never regretted the choice for one second. I was amazed at how many higher level instructors were around at all times of the day and night. They were readily approachable and happy to answer all of my questions. "
Joe Krugler
3rd Section student, Pittsburgh, PA
