Children's Safety Seminar
Bellevue School
October 17th 2003
Nearly fifty children and their families came to the School of Oom Yung Doe for the annual Children’s Safety seminar. Members of the Bellevue Police Department worked with the instructors at the school to bring valuable information to the children regarding bicycle safety and safety after dark in anticipation of the upcoming Halloween holiday. The attendees were treated to a special demonstration by the Oom Yung Doe child and junior students and even had the chance to try out a movement or two for themselves. In addition, each attendee received safety tips and even a Halloween bag with treats.
Here is what some parents had to say at the end of the evening:
“I am so glad that the School of Oom Yung Doe takes the time to present this seminar every year. There are so few places willing to go the extra mile to help keep our children safe.”
“It is especially good for the children to see the instructors working with the police department reinforcing good judgment and safety practices.”
